National Diversity Awards Nomination

We have now been shortlisted for the community organisation award at the National Diversity Awards and we will be going to the finals in September in Liverpool! Thank you to everyone for your votes and encouragement, wish us luck!

Paul Hamlyn foundation

Thanks to Paul Hamlyn foundations for one of our most recent fundings. We have been able to start our Pathways to Equity focus groups again and plan to create working groups and a report based on the babes vision of equity and system change!

Rosa Fund

Also a thank you to the Rosa funding for our recent grant. One we will use to make our first mini-documentary raising awareness about ADHD in our community and what we do at ADHD Babes to support ourselves!

DiNN

Lastly a thank you to Do It Now Now for the funding which will be used to support us in sustainability and income generation! We have been able to bring in a UX/UI designer and will be utilising the grant to improve team cohesion and structuring

Collaborations

Root to rise

Some of the babes started a 8 week "Root to Rise" course led by Jannett Morgan designed to support Black Women and non-binary people with ADHD who have experienced long-term unemployment.

Read some reflections on the last few months from our founder, Vivienne!

”The world still feels heavy. There is still a lot happening which feels like a constant weight on my heart and mind. Naming this first and foremost and praying for freedom, peace and sovereignty for The Congo, Sudan, and Palestine. 

It feels like life is in a constant cycle at times. The last quarter has felt like a process of acknowledging and working with these cycles rather than against them. Both professionally and personally, it seems like some things keep coming back.”

Youtube Re-Launch

Last month we relaunched our youtube channel! You can now find all of our current podcasts on there and we are working on backdating older episodes also!

Open space

Our May ‘Open Space’ discussed the National Autism and ADHD Adult Psychological Service and we spoke about different psychological therapies for ADHD.

Open space

Junes ‘Open Space’ explored the different Psychological Therapies available to manage ADHD. It was delivered by the National ADHD & Autism Psychological Service to improve access to psychological support in the Black community.

“Very compassionate and knowledgeable presenters, with in-depth information shared. I like that the session was recorded so we can refer back to it later.”

Foundational skills course

Aimed at all the babes who are self employed or looking to be - the course has been exploring managing wellbeing and self employment, time management and goal setting, Setting up a business, leadership and more. The course is fully subscribed but keep and eye out for the next round!

ADHD WIN!

“Over the past week, I had a small but really meaningful win: I managed to use Todoist alongside Google Calendar to stay on top of my schedule. For the first time in a long time, I wasn’t constantly worried about forgetting appointments or missing things. The reminders kept me on track, and instead of feeling scattered, I actually felt present and prepared.

What made this a big deal for me is the shift in how I felt about my ADHD. Instead of it running the show, I finally felt like I had tools that worked with me, not against me. It gave me a sense of control and calm, knowing that I could keep everything in one place and trust that I wouldn’t drop the ball. It may sound small, but for me, it’s a big step in learning how to manage my energy, stay organized, and feel more in charge of my own time. I just wanted to share this as a reminder that even the little wins are worth celebrating — they show us that progress is possible, one step at a time.”
